How I photograph animals

You want to keep the time you have with your best friend. We go for a walk somewhere familiar to them — real memories, no stress.

Dogs and cats, old and young, sometimes horses. I come to your home or we meet for a walk. No studio lights, no “look at the lens” — just the animal, you, and me. Patience is the tool, not the shutter.

Lead has to stay on? No problem — we can work it so the lead disappears in editing, or doesn’t show at all.

Sometimes the dog is not the whole picture but the fourth member of the party on a big day. I love photographing a wedding with a dog as much as a plain walk with your pet. Schloss Wiligrad and the Schwerin palace garden are ideal for it, open, dog-friendly and calm enough that your animal can simply be itself.
