How I photograph couples

Every couple has their own picture of the perfect day. White dress in a country church, or a stubble field in leather kutte and a guitar amp — what counts is that you can still look back at that day years later and feel something.

Quiet engagement sessions, weddings where it’s a riff instead of a waltz, the first pregnancy together, pre-wedding shoots on a Baltic beach — I fit around you, not the other way around. What matters: a picture you can look at in ten years without it feeling like a fashion magazine. A rock wedding, leather and a riff instead of a waltz: if your day is loud, I’ll keep it that way.

And if the dog is family, the dog is in the picture. A wedding with your dog is one of my favourite jobs, the first look as a couple and a wet nose right in the middle of it. Schloss Wiligrad and the Schwerin palace garden work well for this, both dog-friendly with room enough that no one is tugging on a lead.
